Support and advocate for renewable energy projects in your area by taking advantage of the Clean Renewable Energy Bond financing tool

WHAT: The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (P.L. 109-58) provides electric cooperatives and public power systems with an incentive financing tool — Clean Renewable Energy Bonds (CREBs).  A CREB is a special type of bond, known as a "tax credit bond" that offers cooperatives an equivalent of an interest-free loan for financing qualified energy projects for a limited term.

Support the change in the tax code to allow privately owned wind projects to be financed with tax-exempt bonds

WHAT: The Renewable Energy Finance Coalition (REFC) is a national coalition that has identified renewable energy, specifically wind power projects, as a new market for tax-exempt financing.  REFC is building on-going support among developers, agricultural groups, farm bureaus, rural development organizations, and wind energy advocacy groups.  There is no cost to join.
